On a stage once graced by musical legends such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, & BB King; Even rockers Alice Cooper and, our favorite, of course, Ozzy (WITH Randy), played it oh so long ago. (As a side note, there are some famous photos of Ozzy and Randy playing in the ocean waves right here on Daytona Beach just steps from the Peabody auditorium.) Tonight, we had another legend of rock and metal, Mr. Blackie Lawless, come to Daytona to this historical auditorium with his tour, “1984 To Headless”, bringing together two powerhouse metal bands, and what a show this is! In a way, "Elvis" was on stage tonight, meaning Blackie's custom chromed-out skeletal mic stand that he will climb onto and 'ride' as it has springs in the bottom. This was the name it was given as it was generally the last piece of the stage prop equipment loaded up after shows, so, "Elvis has left the building", would signal the night was over haha.

Blackie never ceases to impress on stage he exudes such energy and passion for his music and performance that his show is one that captivates the audience and one you'll not soon forget. I have remembered vividly all the times I've seen him on stage and have been seriously impressed by his conviction to his music. He still has the same drive and pure rock 'n roll force we know and love from Blackie.

This stage setup is more elaborate and eye-catching than I’ve seen yet! We see stage props, silkscreens, and stand ups with artwork reminiscent circus side show acts. The tour’s name is "1984 To Headless” and is a salute to the albums the band put out from the self-titled 'W.A.S.P.', which was released in 1984, to the 4th release in 1989 titled 'The Headless Children'.

On 3 LED screens play the classic music videos of the song being performed live taking us back to those memories of where we were, what we were doing, who with when we watched these in rotation on MTV. This was just the cherry on top with memories flooding back!

The setlist is exciting audiences of diehard W.A.S.P. fans as Blackie has decided to take the audience on a tour of just the first few albums, throwing in some songs last performed live in the mid to late 80s and some never performed live until this year (2026). Fans are absolutely eating this up!

Opening band this tour are special guests, 'KK's Priest', who are out promoting their new release, 'The Sinners Ride Again'. It’s been over 12 years since KK Downing left Judas Priest, but he was never to leave the stage or his music behind. During this time, he has put out an autobiography and was also recently inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Loyal Judas Priest fans were over the moon when he put out his own material and started touring again with his own band.

As an added bonus, we have Tim Ripper Owens is on vocals. Many will remember it was he who took over the vocal spot with Judas Priest for about a 10-year stint when Rob Halford left amid tensions within the band, which Halford later wrote in his memoir, was due to "miscommunication" (referring to his departure from the band). Legend ALSO has it that the movie 'Rockstar' was loosely based on this scenario. One of MY favorite movies, personally 😉

Their set list is primarily our favorite Judas Priest tunes with KK's own material sprinkled in. It was a seriously long and powerful set.

You've Got Another Thing Comin' (Judas Priest cover)

Breaking the Law (Judas Priest cover)

Living After Midnight (Judas Priest cover)

Strike of the Viper (KK's Priest)

One More Shot at Glory (KK's Priest)

Hellfire Thunderbolt (KK's Priest)

Heading Out to the Highway (Judas Priest cover)

Beyond the Realms of Death (Judas Priest cover)

The Sentinel (Judas Priest cover)

Victim of Changes (Judas Priest cover)

Turbo Lover (Judas Priest cover)

Raise Your Fists (KK's Priest) [1]

Concerts like this bring our rock ‘n roll 'family' together like no other. We saw so many fans coming through the doors with friends in tow or meeting up there and many more seeing friends they hadn't seen in years. All there for one reason, the love of music. Fans on their feet from beginning to end, chanting and singing to all of thier favorites. The rain outside of the venue as we filed in definitely didn't dampen spirits inside. You run in, shake off the rain, and rock out with your friends; your rock family!

There are still a ton of shows coming up as they cross the country into Canada and back, there is sure to be one near you. Don't miss your chance to see these two bands together!
